My Music: You, Me and the Sea

Every now and then the YouTube algorithm manages to serve me a perfectly-timed video. Such that it was a few months ago when I was recommended a video from the fantastic EDM Tips channel, where Will took us through writing an epic trance track from scratch.
I generally like tune-driven music so it won't surprise you to know I'm fond of trance, especially the epic kind with its super-happy melodies and soaring vocal chops. But I hadn't seriously tried to write anything in this genre.
That changed with the EDM Tips video, which, true to the channel name, was indeed full of tips on how to write each section. It transpires there was was loads I had no idea about, from how to write the sub bass, adding a mid bass and then how to fill a melody with rhythm notes. It was a load of fun following along!
I picked trusty Solaria (using Synthesiser V) for my vocal section, adapting some lyrics from a song I wrote but never did anything with until now.
The result is not too shabby, even if I do say so myself, for my first attempt at this genre.
I threw the video together quickly using royalty-free clips from Pexels.
